About Us

Working with communities, one practical step at a time.

Melandah Foundation is a voluntary, non-profit and non-political organisation working alongside communities across Bangladesh.

Our Story

Rooted in community, built around service.

Melandah Foundation was established in 2024 with a simple aim: to bring people together around practical work that can make everyday life a little better for individuals, families and communities.

Our work can take different forms. At times it may mean humanitarian support or helping a family through a difficult period. At other times it may involve education, health awareness, youth activities, environmental action, research or skills-based programmes.

We do not believe communities need to be spoken for. We try to listen, work with local people and build activities around real needs, available resources and what can be delivered responsibly.

What Guides Us

A clear purpose, grounded in people.

Our work is shaped by a few straightforward principles that help us decide where we can be useful and how we should work with others.

Our Purpose

To reduce hardship, widen opportunity and support stronger, healthier and more resilient communities.

Our Approach

We start by listening, work with people locally and focus on practical action that can be delivered responsibly.

Our Values

Compassion, respect, integrity, fairness and accountability should be visible in the way we work, not just written in a policy.

Our Ambition

To grow carefully, learn from experience and build partnerships that can create lasting benefit over time.

Our Journey

Growing through action and experience

Melandah Foundation is still a young organisation. Our journey is being shaped by the programmes we deliver, the people we work with and what we learn along the way.

As the Foundation develops, we aim to keep our governance practical, transparent and proportionate to the work we are doing.

Looking Ahead

Growing carefully, with purpose.

We want Melandah Foundation to grow in a way that is useful and sustainable. That means strengthening the programmes that work, developing new ideas where there is a clear need, and building relationships with people and organisations who share a commitment to public benefit.

Future activities will depend on need, available funding, capacity, appropriate expertise and any regulatory approvals that may be required.
