Practical work, shaped by real community needs.
Melandah Foundation works across education, health, humanitarian support, community development, the environment, and research and innovation.
From local need to practical delivery
We listen first, plan responsibly, work with people locally and use what we learn to improve future work.
Listen
Understand the need, the context and who is affected.
Plan
Decide what is realistic, useful, lawful and within our capacity.
Work Together
Volunteers, communities and partners help turn plans into action.
Learn
Record outcomes, review what happened and improve the next activity.
Turning our charitable objects into practical action.
Our work is guided by the Foundation’s charitable objects and by what communities tell us they need. We aim to keep programmes practical, proportionate and rooted in public benefit.
Some activities are small and local. Others may grow across districts or involve partners, volunteers and specialist support. The scale may change, but the aim remains the same: to be useful, responsible and accountable.
Six areas that bring our purpose to life
These public-facing areas reflect the Foundation’s charitable objects and help explain where our programmes and activities fit.
Education & Skills
Learning support, scholarships, training, STEM, digital literacy, vocational skills and access to educational opportunities.
Health & Wellbeing
Public-health education, prevention, wellbeing, community health initiatives and responsible access to appropriate support.
Humanitarian Support
Help during hardship and emergencies, including food and essential support, disaster response, rehabilitation and community resilience.
Community Development
Livelihoods, youth participation, social welfare, inclusion, culture, local capacity and community-led initiatives.
Environment & Sustainability
Tree planting, conservation, climate awareness, agriculture, food security and practical action for more sustainable communities.
Research, Technology & Innovation
Research, technology, digital innovation and publications that help us develop practical ideas, strengthen learning and create useful solutions for communities.
Family Green Asset Programme — Faridpur
The Family Green Asset Programme (FGAP) combines environmental action with a longer-term household asset idea. Through tree planting, families are encouraged to care for trees that may provide social, environmental and economic value over time.
The Faridpur activity brought volunteers and local families together around practical tree planting and community participation.
